Company is to good to work for. Flexible timing or work from home if you have good manager.

Dislikes

Very less chance to learn new things. Very less technical training or given to only those who already have experience on that. Single digit hike.

Dull, Sluggish, unstructured recruitment, client-onboarding and offboarding process. Recruiters call a few hours before the deadline and ask to submit documents and then disappear for weeks. At times, different recruiters will call you and ask you to submit documents multiple times because they "An IT Company" don't have a system tomanage employee data. LOL!!! Ensure a good salary hike while joining, because later, no matter if you work 4 hours of 24 hours you ain't getting anything more than 5%. Overtime and shift allowances are the lowest and it's a pain to claim all those. There are loads of apps for everything, and it gets frustrating at times to manage simple things like leaves or uploading tax proofs. Managers who are working for 10-15 years don't have actual work other than sending timesheets, fun activities, surveys, certification reminders. and playing dirty politics. Surprisingly, these same managers have the biggest and most fragile EGOs. Management and team members sitting onsite make sure their job is safe, and no other team member would go onsite so the billing remains low. Overall, if you become a manager's pet, it's an ideal company for you. If you raise concerns about processes, you will be tortured irrespective of your performance. Bonus Tip- Follow Capgemini LinkedIn page and see how getting joining date and/or full and final settlement is handled here. You will be amazed to see that a company like Capgemini, who promotes Data Analytics, AI and what not can handle their own employee issues :) Good luck joining here!!! ...Read More

This is about Yosemite, Airoli Office. Infrastructure is great. If you are fed up with lot of work take some break & sit in campus, ride bicycle or move out for a walk mostly in evening(Pros) (if you don't have any priority deliverables or call) Cafeteria is huge. In lunch time, it's difficult to find some vacant place to sit.(Cons) Pantry house, Washrooms & multiple ODC on each floor - Neat & Clean (Pros) No drawers beneath desk of each employees (Cons) But lockers are present outside that can be used to put your stuff safe & secured (Pros) Work depends on projects you tagged into inside CG (Time may vary with respect to shift/time zones from project to project) Learning & growth is huge for freshers in my opinion (They train you in particular technologies & take test internally) (Pros) After you clear internal test it is still mot confirmed you will be getting project in that particular domain (Cons) FYI, if you are confident that you want to go that domain then apply for those projects internally as well (it may take some time but be confident) ...Read More

They train someone in particular domain & then try to tag them in different domain/technologies (which may be candidate is not willing to) If the candidate is not willing to relocate they should ask for that candidate who is willing to relocate to some other location (this can distrubs candidate mindset & focus towards actual work which he/she may be good at)

It depends on projects who are into. If you have spare time you can rome campus in evening that will fresh your mind You can even go for tennis, pool, carrom, etc by paying some bucks.

Capgemini is a very renouned company with high ethical standard and takes care of its employees by doing a monthly survey where employees can give their honest feedback. I joined as a fresher and having a 2 years of agreement, so if I would like to talk about job security then I would say it's completely secure. Every month you get oppurtunities to develop and grow yourself by doing courses(both technical & non-technical). Very Good work environment and culture. I am in a DevOps project and my manager and teammates are very supportive and the management is also very transparent. Company policies are good and appraisals depend on your yearly performance....Read More

Freshers will be given a training of 3 months on a praticular domain but it's not sure that they will be assigned to that kind of project. They will put the resources where there is a need. There is a bond of 2 years before which you cannot leave the company, otherwise you have to pay a required amount of money or you have to talk with the HR regarding this. Also they provides medical facility only for the employee if they are unmarried, doesn't includes their parents. You can cover medical facility of your parents but you need to pay a required amount from your own salary....Read More

Work life in Capgemini is very good in this kind of situation as work from home makes it possible to make a good balance in work and family. I learnt everything on the job after getting tagged to the project.

Capgemini has been very supportive to employees during COVID and has introduced many ways to help and support not only employees but also their families. It has got really good projects to work on and they encourage to do more learning and certifications sometimes relevant and sometimes irrelevant which is a bit disturbing and the follow-ups to do them even if irrelevant is quite frustrating.

Dislikes

The compensation benefits are best at the worst for Seniors who work for more than 5 years. They don't care for employees who are at a bit senior position when it comes to work life balance and compensation. The appraisal ratings are also not transparent. By all chances, if you get a top rating also, you cannot be sure to get a decent hike. At least I have not seen a double digit hike even with a promotion. Always the hike for seniors is 2%, no change in salary letter or no letter too. Nothing is transparent. Juniors get decent hikes. Also they get promoted regularly as per policy. They realize and offer a very good hike to retain only when an employee resigns. They do not have any value for an employee when they stick onto the organization. Appraisals are done in November only for entire year but you don't see a compensation change letter till March end which is also a strategy to make employees not decide anything till they see a letter. HR policies are worst. Mostly they don't maintain a database to see if a person has attended an interview already. They keep sending them for interviews even if panelist mentions that he is rejected last week only....Read More

The work culture at Capgemini has been good overall. Since it's a big organization the set of people you get vary from one project to another , some people are good and some are not that good. Job security wise also it's a good company since most of the projects are long term projects and you can remain a part of the same for a longterm, I spent my entire 5 years working for a same client. But since the company follows Bell curve they have to rate someone low or below average and sometimes layoffs may happen but very rare. The only thing to look out is not to be on bench for more than 2 months, they generally ask people to resign if you are at senior level and are not able to get a project in couple of months and hence people prefer spending time in one account unless they get released from that account. As far as the company management is considered since it's a big organization lot of things are not concentrated, this impacts you based on how your manager is, if you have a understanding manager then this place can be very good they provide you opportunities to learn New technologies and encourage you to get certified and if you have patience you can get work in your choice of area given things your manager is helpful and supportive. Company has good policies over all, you get 24 leaves in a year each month 2 leaves are credited in your account. Mediclaim is not that great as you get a coverage of 3 lakhs for your family which does not include your parents but you can purchase Mediclaim for them by paying an extra premium which I thought was very expensive so will not recommend instead you can purchase it from outside on individual basis. As far the increments are considered they are there just for namesake for my last 5 years the average hike has been just 3% despite I being an above average performer so you can imagine what will be the hike given to average performers. So it you are coming to this organization for a fast career growth this is not the place for u...Read More

Can’t talk much about work environment as i worked from home only but still it was great, i would say it really doesn’t matter in which company you work but it is really the people you work with like your team members, manager and leadership, i was totally blessed that i got to worked with very good people. Again it was a blessing that even that i got to worked on very good project where I learnt trending technologies, so learning experience was very good. Work life balance is good and there was no micro management in my case. Companies are good, appraisals are fair but not according to market standards as per technology you are working on.. So overall a good company even good to start your career, but again it depends what kind of people you get to work with....Read More

Nothing, really nothing as I really got to work with best, cool and most kind people and they made my time at Capgemini wonderful, so nothing to complain. Coming to hike, i would say i was disappointed as it wasn’t as per market standards for the work i was doing🙁.

Lower management and HR team sucks. Once you are recruited, nobody from the HR team will ever, ever, ever will connect with you to know if an employee is doing well or if he is facing any challenges. Just in case if you are facing any issues with your manager and you inform the HR team, they will not take any action on the ticket or talk to you about it. Instead they would inform the manager and then both will retaliate until you are dead. The work culture is very toxic. My feedback is based on my personal experiences with this company. Once you are on notice, then the manager and management will completely disown the employee and there would be no cooperation from anybody until the end. They will even not share the FNF process with you properly. The manager would point towards HR team for answers to any queries and the HR will point you back to the manager. I know one of my colleague's whose FNF has not been processed yet even after submitting the company assets in December. As I said this feedback is based upon my experience with a particular manager and the HR team for a particular site. It's solely your decision to either join this company or not after reading this feedback. ...Read More

They are coming up with some good HR practices, probably copying the policies from international offices like half-day leave, flexi work (where you and the manager( catch in policy ) can agree to say you working only 4days/week or 6hrs/day etc and the salary is reduced by same proportion. Catch is all the policies are highly dependents on the managers who won't agree. Stationary- They provide a couple of notepad and pens to all employees each month who book it on portal....Read More

Dislikes

Salary Hike- Even with best rating, a person is lucky to receive double digits hike. Otherwise usual hike is 0-5%. They would keep on acquiring companies and put it as expense on company balance sheet and even give 0 hike to employee. Variable Pay- They wont pay for the last/resigning year and at least 6months variable is lost. Shift Allowance- I worked in a lot of projects, not even a single PM informed about this. They would ask to work in shifts but won't pay shift allowance mostly. HR policies- HR is the weakest in CG. In case of any conflict they would ask to connect to the manager/supervisor and refrain to interfere. Training- Only given as per project requirement. Every employee has to mandatory do 40+hrs/year. Earlier they were providing project code for training but it is stopped. Travel- Worst, Eg if a person is travelling for a meeting for 2 days then the PM can approve the stay for only 1 day i.e. there is no last day stay. So this person has to leave hotel on last day, report office for meeting and directly leave from office to base location. Cost Cutting- Project management will hide policies in the name of cost cutting. Onsite- Is very minimal and the management is always ready to travel themselves in case something comes up. Project Work- Not much exciting and mostly you would be working on multiple projects 2 or 3 to optimize your work and cost savings. New Joiners- Have a bond for 2 years and they have stopped default promotions which were there earlier for fresher's. Career Growth- Very minimal, unless someone leaves there are hardly any promotions. Only the fresher's not laterals have good chance....Read More

Capgemini is best in terms of work life balance, while working here I never felt that my personal life is getting disturbed. Company management is so poor, They are not thinking about their people who trusted capgemini since long time and be with capgemini. I still love capgemini but when it comes to compensation part I rate it like poor due to company management.

Dislikes

I only concerned about compensation part here, I asked company management to restructure my salary as per industry stsndards but they wont be able to give it.

In IT, your experience is majorly driven thru the project you are in and the manager you report to. I had a fair share of good and bad people as my L1 and mostly I survived because of the amount of work I put thru. after a certain level they need your work which should be at least 2 people job. They will stop bothering you since they cannot replace you (because of the cost of replacing you, nothing else). So it was OK, because of the work load I carried, I learned a lot and that eventually helped me in getting out of the org....Read More

any organization should have a strategy based on what do you want and what can you do. the problem in Capgemini is as a management, they only know what they want and they have no idea if that is possible or not. they put their employees thru different trainings and stuff so they can do something which was not possible from the start. eventually after a year or two, the initiative will fail, because the goal was unrealistic and it was made by someone just to please their bosses without any ground reality check....Read More
